Ultimately, it will be a thriving town with more than 4,000 residences built in nine phases, with a carefully planned mix of single-family homes, cottage homes, apartment/condominium mansions, row homes, lofts and live-work units. "We have planned this wide variety of styles, since we hope to attract people of all ages to New Town," Whittaker says.
In addition to homes, the first phase will have an intricate system of lakes and canals, civic greens, and a neighborhood center with an expansive amphitheater, a corner store, offices, a mail center and more.
